Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) wishes to inform the public and all prospective students that the Post-UTME, Direct Entry, and related screening for the 2025/2026 admission exercise will be conducted using an automated grading system that combines both O’level and UTME results.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Upload your O’level result(s) to your JAMB CAPS profile via JAMB-accredited CBT centres or JAMB offices only.
- Avoid using unapproved cyber cafés to upload results to JAMB CAPS.
- Ensure the same O’level result(s) are uploaded on both JAMB CAPS and UNIZIK portals to avoid disqualification.
Screening Formula Breakdown
1. Grading Ratio
- UTME Score: 70%
- O’level Subject Scores: 30%
Conversion:
- 70% = 0.7
- 30% = 0.3
2. O’level Grading Scale
- A1 = 90
- B2 = 80
- B3 = 70
- C4 = 60
- C5 = 55
- C6 = 50
- D7, E8, F9 = 0
- Awaiting Result (AR) = 0
Only the four subjects taken in UTME will be used for the O’level calculation.
Example: If a candidate sat for English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in UTME, only these subjects will be considered from the O’level result.
3. Bonus Points
- Single sitting (4 credits in one sitting): +10 points
- Two sittings: No bonus (0 points)
4. Final Score Calculation
Formula:
Final Score = (UTME score × 0.7) + {(O’level total + Bonus) × 0.3}
Example Calculation
Candidate’s Details:
- UTME Total = 285
- O’level Grades:
- English – B3 (70)
- Biology – A1 (90)
- Physics – C4 (60)
- Chemistry – B2 (80)
- English – B3 (70)
- Total O’level Score = 300
i. Single Sitting
Final Score = (285 × 0.7) + {(300 + 10) × 0.3}
= 199.5 + 93
= 292.5
ii. Two Sittings
Final Score = (285 × 0.7) + {(300 + 0) × 0.3}
= 199.5 + 90
= 289.5
Difference: Candidates with a single sitting gain 3 extra points compared to those with two sittings.
