UNIBEN Opens Payment Portal for 2025/2026 Fresh Students

UNIBEN

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has launched an upgraded online payment portal for newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session. This portal is now active for all 100-level freshmen and Direct Entry students admitted into 200-level. The system was created to make payment of school charges easier, safer, and more transparent by ensuring that students use only the official UNIBEN payment portal.

The University also confirmed that there is no increase in school charges for the new academic session. The same fee structure used in previous years still applies, so students and parents can make payment plans without fear of added costs.

Approved UNIBEN Payment Portal for 2025/2026

All school charges must be paid strictly through the official portal provided by the University. UNIBEN warns that:

  • Payments must be made only through the official online portal.
  • No individual, cybercafé, or external platform is authorized to collect fees.
  • Payments made outside the official portal may not reflect on the school’s records and can cause serious verification issues.

Who Should Use the Payment Portal?

The upgraded payment portal is available to:

  • Newly admitted 100-level students
  • Newly admitted 200-level Direct Entry students

These students can log in from anywhere and complete their payments using a reliable internet connection.

Step-by-Step Guide for Paying UNIBEN School Charges Online

To complete payment successfully, students should follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the official UNIBEN portal.
  2. Click on “Login”.
  3. Enter your User ID (Student ID) and the password issued during admission.
  4. On your dashboard, select the “Payment” option.
  5. Under Payment Type, choose “School Charges”.
  6. Click on “Process Payment”.
  7. Follow the on-screen REMITA instructions to complete your payment.
  8. Double-check that your displayed information is correct before confirming payment.
  9. After payment is successful, print or download your payment receipt for reference.

Students are advised to keep their login credentials private and avoid sharing their passwords with anyone.

No Increase in School Charges for 2025/2026

UNIBEN has reassured all stakeholders that school charges remain unchanged for the 2025/2026 session. This means:

  • No new fee has been added.
  • Any claims of a fee increase should be ignored.
  • Students should rely solely on the fee details displayed on the official portal dashboard.

If a student sees a different figure elsewhere, the amount shown on the portal is the correct and approved one.

Support for Payment Issues

If a student encounters problems during the payment process—such as incomplete transactions, wrong details, or network errors the University’s ICT Unit is available to assist.

Students can reach the ICT team via:

  • Phone: 08143058717, 09031516333
  • Email: UNIBEN official support email

When seeking support, students should provide:

  • Full name
  • Student ID
  • Level (100-level or 200-level Direct Entry)
  • A short explanation of the issue faced

Providing these details helps the ICT Unit respond more quickly.

How to Safely Use the UNIBEN Payment Portal

Students should follow these safety tips while using the portal:

  • Type the portal address manually instead of clicking unknown links.
  • Verify that the website address is correct before logging in.
  • Never share passwords, OTPs, or card details with anyone.
  • Use personal or trusted devices when making payments.
  • Always log out after completing any transaction, especially when using shared computers.

By staying cautious, students can protect their accounts and avoid problems with their payment records.
