Postgraduate Admission Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) with at least a Third Class from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) is compulsory.
Master’s Degree (MSc)
- Candidates must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.
- PGD holders must have a CGPA of at least 3.00 on a 5-point scale.
- Holders of FMLSCN qualifications are eligible to apply for MLS postgraduate programmes.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
- Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in the proposed field of study.
- A minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale is required.
Duration of Postgraduate Programmes
- PGD: 2 to 3 semesters
- MSc: 3 to 5 semesters
- PhD: 6 to 9 semesters
Programme duration depends on the mode of study and academic progress.

Transcript Submission Guidelines
All applicants must ensure that both hard and soft copies of academic transcripts reach the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, no later than 11 January 2026.

Additional Document Requirements
- MSc Applicants: A one-page summary of previous research work
- PhD Applicants: A thesis proposal not exceeding five pages
