Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) Announces 2025/2026 Resumption Dates for Fresh and Returning Students

The management of Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) has officially announced the resumption and registration schedule for both new and returning students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This decision was reached during an emergency Senate meeting held on Monday, 3 November 2025, at the main campus. The meeting, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mukhtar Umar Bunza, outlined the timelines for registration and the official start of academic activities.

Registration Schedule for NWUS Students

According to the approved schedule:

  • Newly admitted students will begin registration on Monday, 17 November 2025, and the process will end on Monday, 1 December 2025.
  • Returning students are to start registration on Monday, 1 December 2025, and complete it by Monday, 15 December 2025.

The University management emphasized that late registration will not be tolerated, and all students must adhere strictly to the approved timetable.

NWUS Academic Calendar and Expectations

In his address, Professor Mukhtar Umar Bunza reaffirmed the University’s dedication to maintaining a stable and uninterrupted academic calendar. He urged students to complete registration early and prepare for lectures immediately after resumption.

Preparations are already underway to ensure a conducive learning environment, including improved classroom facilities, enhanced digital access, and adequate accommodation for students.

The Vice Chancellor also encouraged students to embrace hard work, discipline, and academic excellence as the institution begins another productive academic year.

Professor Bunza commended the staff and management of NWUS for their continuous effort and commitment toward advancing the University’s mission. He also expressed appreciation to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for his consistent support and contributions to the institution’s growth and development.

He added that the University remains focused on producing graduates with strong academic foundations and practical skills who will contribute meaningfully to society.
