Northwest University, Sokoto, has announced a late registration penalty for students who failed to complete their registration within the approved timeline for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The announcement was made in an official notice released by the Office of the Bursar, confirming that the normal registration period has now closed. However, the University has approved a grace period that allows affected students to complete their registration, subject to certain conditions.

Late Registration Attracts Daily Charge

According to the notice, students registering after the deadline will be required to pay a late registration fee of ₦1,000 per day. This penalty takes effect from Monday, February 2, 2026, and will continue to accumulate until the registration process is fully completed.

Important Conditions for Affected Students

The University Management outlined the following key points regarding the late registration process:

  • The ₦1,000 daily charge will continue to apply for every additional day of delay.
  • Students who fail to complete registration within the approved grace period risk facing further disciplinary measures, including restriction from academic activities.
  • All payments must be made strictly through the University’s official payment channels for the registration to be considered valid.

Advisory to Students

Northwest University has strongly advised all affected students to act promptly and complete their registration to avoid mounting penalties and possible denial of access to lectures, examinations, and other academic engagements.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the grace period and ensure full compliance with the University’s registration requirements.
