NEPL/OERNL Joint Venture Scholarship 2026/2027 for Nigerian Undergraduates

OANDO Scholarship

The NEPL/OERNL Joint Venture, in partnership with Oando Energy Resources Nigeria Limited, has started accepting applications for the 2026/2027 Tertiary Scholarship Scheme.

This scholarship program is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at supporting talented Nigerian students in higher institutions. The scheme provides financial support to eligible undergraduates studying in accredited universities across the country.

Application Dates

Students interested in applying should take note of the following timeline:

  • Application opening date: March 3, 2026
  • Application deadline: April 1, 2026

Applicants are advised to complete and submit their applications before the closing date to avoid missing the opportunity

Scholarship Categories

The scholarship scheme is divided into two main categories:

Host/Transit Communities Merit Award

This category is specifically designed for students who come from communities where the company operates. Eligible states include:

  • Rivers State
  • Bayelsa State
  • Delta State
  • Imo State

National Merit Award

This category is open to students from other parts of Nigeria who do not belong to the host or transit communities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student in a Nigerian tertiary institution.
  • Be a confirmed 100-level student at the time of application.

Not Eligible

The following categories of students cannot apply:

  • Students currently in 200 level or above.
  • Individuals already receiving similar scholarships from other companies or organizations.
  • Children or dependants of staff of Oando PLC or its subsidiaries.

Required Documents

Applicants will need to upload scanned copies of the following documents during registration:

  • Recent passport photograph with a white background
  • Student ID card
  • O’Level certificate
  • Admission letter
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of local government area of origin
  • Letter from community leaders (for host community applicants)
  • JAMB result and other supporting documents required on the portal

Selection Process

After the application period closes, shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an online aptitude test.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, applicants must score at least 50% in the test. Only candidates who meet this requirement will be considered for the award and contacted for further steps.
