The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), located in Kaduna, has announced the commencement of applications for admission into its 78th Regular Course.

Qualified candidates across Nigeria, both male and female, are invited to submit their applications through the official NDA online application portal.

The application process will remain open until April 30, 2026.

Application Procedure

Interested applicants should follow the steps below to apply:

1. Visit the official application portal: www.ndaapplications.net.
2. Select the “Purchase Access Code” option on the portal.
3. Fill in the required personal details.
4. Make payment of ₦7,000 via the Remita payment platform.

Applicants should note that only payments generated through RRR codes from the NDA portal will be accepted.

Important Requirement for Applicants

Candidates seeking admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy must also register with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and choose NDA as their first-choice institution.

Applicants are mandated to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as part of the admission process.

Submission of Application

Completed application forms must be submitted online along with scanned copies of relevant documents such as SSCE, NECO, or equivalent examination results.

After submitting the form, candidates should download and print the acknowledgement slip, which will be required during the screening process.

General Admission Requirements

Admission requirements for each undergraduate programme are available on the NDA website and application portal. However, candidates should note the following:

• SSCE, NECO, or equivalent results must not be older than five years at the time of admission.
• Knowledge of French or Arabic may be considered an added advantage.
• Additional details about courses, eligibility, and screening centres can be found on the official NDA portal.

Screening Test Requirements

Only candidates who meet the admission criteria and achieve the required UTME scores will be eligible to participate in the screening test.

Minimum UTME score requirements include:

• 210 and above for Engineering programmes
• 180 and above for other faculties

Eligible candidates will be allowed to print their Screening Test Admission Card after meeting the requirements.

NDA Screening Test Date

The Phase One screening test, which serves as the NDA Post-UTME examination, is scheduled to take place on:

Saturday, June 6, 2026

Candidates attending the screening test must come with the following:

• Printed Acknowledgement Form
• Screening Test Admission Card
• JAMB result slip
• Two passport-sized photographs (3.5 × 5 inches)

The photographs should display the candidate from the chest upward, with the following details written on the back:

• Candidate’s name
• Examination number
• State of origin
• Exam centre
• Course of study
• Candidate’s signature

Only candidates who pass this stage will proceed to the Armed Forces Selection Board (Phase Two).

Duration and Nature of Training

Successful candidates admitted into the Regular Course will undergo both military and academic training as officer cadets at the Nigerian Defence Academy for a period of five years.

Upon completion of the programme, graduates will receive:

• A Bachelor’s degree (BSc, BEng, or BA) in their field of study
• A Presidential Commission as officers in the Armed Forces of Nigeria

Sponsorship and Training Costs

All cadets admitted into the programme will have their training, accommodation, and logistics fully funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria during the duration of the programme.
