The Lagos State University (LASU) has released and approved its academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to the announcement signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, on behalf of the University Senate, the calendar was ratified after the recommendation of the Committee of Provost, Deans, and Directors (COPDD) during its meeting held on Thursday, 11 September 2025.
LASU Academic Calendar 2025/2026
First Semester
- Registration for new students: Monday, 15 September – Friday, 3 October 2025 (3 weeks)
- Resumption & lectures (new & returning students): Monday, 6 October – Friday, 19 December 2025 (11 weeks)
- End-of-year break: Monday, 22 December 2025 – Friday, 2 January 2026 (2 weeks)
- Revision & late registration (₦5,000 penalty): Monday, 5 – Friday, 9 January 2026 (1 week)
- Examinations: Monday, 12 January – Friday, 6 February 2026 (4 weeks)
- Grading & uploading of results: Monday, 9 – Friday, 20 February 2026 (2 weeks)
- Faculty & Senate approval of results: Monday, 23 – Friday, 27 February 2026 (1 week)
New students spend 24 weeks in the first semester, while returning students spend 21 weeks.
Second Semester
- Resumption, registration & lectures: Monday, 2 March – Friday, 22 May 2026 (12 weeks)
- Examinations: Monday, 25 May – Friday, 5 June 2026 (4 weeks)
- Grading & uploading of results: Monday, 8 – Friday, 19 June 2026 (2 weeks)
- Faculty & ICT consideration of results: Monday, 22 – Friday, 26 June 2026 (1 week)
- Collation of results & Senate approval: Monday, 29 June – Friday, 3 July 2026 (1 week)
- End-of-session break: From Monday, 6 July – Friday, 2 October 2026
The 2026/2027 academic session begins on Monday, 6 October 2026.
