The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) admission exercise.
In an official statement, the Board announced that the sale of Direct Entry application forms began on Monday, 2nd March 2026, and will close on Saturday, 25th April 2026. This provides eligible candidates with a clearly defined window to complete their registration.
Registration Period
Prospective applicants should take note of the approved timeline:
- Opening Date: Monday, 2nd March 2026
- Closing Date: Saturday, 25th April 2026
Candidates are advised to complete all necessary procedures before the deadline, as late applications are not usually entertained.
Application Process and Venue
JAMB has clarified that Direct Entry registration is strictly conducted in person.
Applicants must visit designated JAMB offices nationwide to process their applications. The Board emphasized that this service is available only at its official offices, meaning candidates should not attempt to register online or through unauthorized agents.
Physically visiting an approved JAMB office ensures proper documentation, biometric capture, and validation of credentials.
Eligibility for Direct Entry
The Direct Entry route is designed for candidates who already possess advanced academic qualifications and wish to gain admission into higher institutions without sitting for UTME.
Eligible applicants typically include holders of:
- National Diploma (ND)
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Advanced Level (A’ Level) certificates
- Other recognized equivalent qualifications
Successful Direct Entry candidates are generally admitted into 200 level in Nigerian universities or other tertiary institutions.
Important Reminder
All interested candidates should ensure they complete their registration within the official window, from 2nd March to 25th April 2026.
Visiting an accredited JAMB office before the closing date is essential to secure eligibility for admission through the Direct Entry pathway. Early registration is strongly recommended to avoid last-minute challenges.
