Igbinedion University Announces 23rd Convocation Ceremony 2025

Igbinedion University, Okada, has officially released the full schedule for its 23rd Convocation Ceremony, taking place on Friday, 28th November, and Saturday, 29th November 2025. The announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, on behalf of the Board of Regents, the University Council and Senate.

The two-day ceremony will feature the Convocation Lecture, followed by the main Convocation Ceremony where degrees and awards will be conferred on deserving graduands.

Programme Highlights

 Friday, 28th November 2025 – Convocation Lecture

  • Guest Speaker: Hon. Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu
    Minister of State for Education, Federal Republic of Nigeria
  • Lecture Topic: “The Nexus between Education and National Prosperity in a Transformative Economy”
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Venue: University Library Conference Hall, Igbinedion University, Okada

This lecture will explore how education drives national growth, innovation and long-term economic transformation.

 Saturday, 29th November 2025 – Main Convocation Ceremony

  • Event: Conferment of First Degrees, Higher Degrees and Award of Prizes
  • Guest Speaker: Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu
    Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Venue: Main Auditorium, Igbinedion University, Okada

On this day, graduating students will formally receive their degrees and outstanding scholars will be honoured for academic excellence.
