Gombe State University (GSU) has officially opened its student registration portal for the 2025/2026 academic session, with registration taking effect from February 4, 2026.

The announcement was issued by the Office of the Registrar, informing students, parents, and guardians that the online portal is now active for both newly admitted and returning students. The university also released important guidelines to ensure a smooth and hitch-free registration process.

Who Can Register and How to Log In

All students are required to access the registration portal using credentials based on their admission status:

🔹 Fresh Students

  • Portal: student.portal.gsu.edu.ng
  • Username: JAMB Registration Number
  • Default Password: gsu2026

🔹 Returning Students

  • Portal: student.portal.gsu.edu.ng
  • Username: Matriculation Number
  • Default Password: gsu2026

For security reasons, students are strongly advised to change their default passwords immediately after their first login.

O’Level Verification Is Mandatory for Fresh Students

The university has placed special emphasis on O’Level result verification, which is a compulsory requirement for newly admitted students.

According to the management, only fresh students who have successfully verified their O’Level results will be allowed to proceed with full registration on the main portal.

Fresh students who are yet to complete this step are instructed to do so immediately via the university’s verification platform:

 verifyoilevel.gsu.edu.ng

Failure to verify O’Level results will automatically block access to the registration system.

University’s Advice to Students and Parents

Speaking on behalf of the Registrar, the Academic Secretary, Musa Sarki, urged students to complete their registration promptly and in line with university regulations. Parents and guardians were also encouraged to support their wards to ensure timely compliance.

The university warned that late registration will attract additional charges, as stipulated by GSU regulations.

Final Reminder

With the registration portal now live, students are advised to:

  • Log in early
  • Complete all required steps
  • Avoid unnecessary delays that could lead to penalties

Early registration not only saves money but also ensures a smooth academic start for the 2025/2026 session at Gombe State University.
