The GREAT Scholarships 2026-2027 offer international students a chance to pursue a master’s degree in the UK with substantial financial support. Managed by the British Council’s Study UK campaign in collaboration with UK universities, the programme promotes access to high-quality UK higher education while fostering global connections.
For the 2026-27 academic year, over 140 GREAT Scholarships are available at more than 60 universities across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
All scholars are invited to a welcome event in the first semester and a networking event in the second semester, providing opportunities to meet fellow scholars, exchange ideas, and build lasting professional networks.
Benefits of GREAT Scholarships
Each GREAT Scholarship provides £10,000 towards tuition fees for one academic year of full-time master’s study.
This funding helps reduce financial pressure, allowing students to focus on academics and personal growth. While scholars are responsible for any remaining tuition or living costs, the award can significantly ease the overall financial burden of studying in the UK.
