According to FUTA, such claims are entirely false. The individuals behind these messages are scammers whose aim is to deceive parents, guardians, and candidates by requesting payments into personal bank accounts and directing people to suspicious phone numbers. The university stresses that no person whether inside or outside the institution has the authority to alter screening results or influence the admission process.

All admissions are strictly based on merit and processed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) using standard guidelines.
