The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has released an important notice to all matriculating students regarding the upcoming Matriculation Ceremony and 13th Commencement Lecture for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a circular signed by Dr. A. O. Salaam, Deputy Registrar I (Senate and Admissions), the event will be held at the Professor Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building on Wednesday, 19th November, 2025, beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m.
Matriculation Ceremony Details
- Date: Wednesday, 19th November, 2025
- Venue: Professor Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building
- Time: 10:00 a.m. (Matriculants must be seated by 9:30 a.m.)
- Event: 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony and 13th Commencement Lecture
All entrances to the venue will be closed once the Vice-Chancellor’s Procession begins, so students are advised to arrive early and take their seats before 9:30 a.m.
Collection and Return of Academic Gowns
All matriculating students are required to wear academic gowns and caps as part of the ceremony regulations.
- Collection Date: From Monday, 17th November, 2025
- Return Deadline: Not later than Monday, 24th November, 2025 (by 12 noon)
- Collection Point: College Offices
Matriculants must present a photocopy of their school fees payment receipt for the 2025/2026 academic session before collecting gowns and caps.
Penalties for Late Return or Loss
Students are strongly advised to return gowns and caps on time to avoid penalties:
- Late return: ₦20,000 fine
- Loss or damage: ₦30,000 replacement fee
Completion of Matriculation Oath
Matriculation is incomplete without signing the Matriculation Oath online.
Failure to do so means the student will not be recognized as a bona fide member of the University.
Students are encouraged to log in to the official FUNAAB student portal and complete this process immediately after the ceremony.
