Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, is delighted to announce that it has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence 15 new undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This expansion marks another significant milestone in UMYU’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and innovation across diverse fields.

The newly accredited programmes include:
- Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT)
- B.NSc. Nursing Science
- B.Medical Laboratory Science
- B.Sc. Cyber Security
- B.Sc. Plant Science and Biotechnology
- B.Sc. Animal and Environmental Biology
- B.Sc. Medical Physics
- B.Sc. Physics with Electronics
- B.Sc. Applied Geophysics
- B.Sc. Information Systems
- B.Sc. Software Engineering
- B.Ed. Educational Management
- B.Ed. Guidance and Counselling
- B.A. Arabic Literary Study and Translation
- B.Sc. Food Science and Technology
Who Can Apply
Candidates who wish to study any of the above-listed programmes or those who missed the first Post-UTME Aptitude Test are invited to register and sit for the upcoming test.
Note: The following programmes are excluded from this registration:
Agriculture, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Education & Computer Science, Environmental Management, International Relations, Law, Library and Information Science, Medicine & Surgery, and Microbiology.
Post-UTME Test Details and Registration Period
- Registration opens: Saturday, 11th October 2025
- Registration closes: Friday, 17th October 2025
- Aptitude test date: Saturday, 18th October 2025
Eligible candidates must have selected UMYU as their first-choice institution in the 2025 UTME and scored at least the minimum cut-off mark for their chosen course.

Documents Required for Registration
Applicants should upload the following documents during registration:
- 2025 JAMB Result Slip
- O’Level Result(s)
- Valid means of identification (Indigene Certificate, National ID Card, or International Passport)
Candidates awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Payment Method
A non-refundable fee of ₦2,000 (including all charges) is required for the aptitude test.
Payment should be made through the options provided on the UMYU Post-UTME Portal.
All candidates must come with their payment slip to the examination venue.
Special Provisions for Candidates with Special Needs
Candidates identified by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as having special needs are exempted from taking the Post-UTME aptitude test.
However, they must submit hard copies of their credentials to the Office of the Registrar.
