FCMLST ND II Direct Admission & Short-Term Certificate Programmes 2025/2026

The management of the Federal College of Medical and Laboratory Science Technology (FCMLST), Jos has officially announced the commencement of National Diploma (ND II) Direct Admission (Recertification) for Medical Laboratory Technologists for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In addition, the College has introduced short-term professional certificate programmes in highly sought-after fields including:

• Applied Immunology and Vaccine Science
  
• Mortuary Science
  
• Phlebotomy
  

These programmes are designed to provide both academic advancement and professional skills to candidates who want to strengthen their expertise in medical laboratory sciences.

ND II Direct Admission (Recertification) in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)

Eligibility:
Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

• Candidates with an Ordinary Diploma (OD) in Medical Laboratory Technology or related courses from a recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria.
  
• Candidates who already hold a professional MLT license but wish to obtain an academic certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  
• Applicants must also possess:

  • Valid MLT license
    
  • Five (5) O’Level credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics (at not more than two sittings).
    

Programme Duration: 1 year

Certificate in Applied Immunology and Vaccine Science

Eligibility:

• Candidates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.
  
• ND/OD holders in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least 1 year of laboratory/clinical/research experience.
  

Programme Duration: 9 months

Certificate in Mortuary Science & Phlebotomy

Eligibility:

• BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.
  
• ND/OD holders in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  
• For Mortuary Science only: Mortuary Attendants with at least one year of work experience and five (5) O’Level credits (Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, and Physics).
  

Programme Duration: 6 months

Method of Application

1. Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦10,000 via Remita.

   • Select PAY TSA & STATE
     
   • Select PAY FGN, then choose FCMLST Jos – 052102704200.
     
   • Input payment details and complete the transaction.
     
2. Print out the payment receipt with the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code.
   
3. Present the receipt alongside original credentials, passport photograph, and application form during screening.
