Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has announced an extension of its physical screening exercise for candidates admitted into the 2025/2026 academic session. The university has now shifted the closing date, giving applicants additional time to complete the verification process.
According to the official update, the screening window will remain open until Friday, January 23, 2026.
Why the Deadline Was Extended
The university explained that the extra week will allow management to compile and submit the official matriculation list to JAMB in line with national admission guidelines for the 2025/2026 session.
What Admitted Candidates Must Do
All candidates who received provisional admission through UTME or Direct Entry are required to complete two critical steps before the final deadline:
Step 1: Confirm Admission on JAMB CAPS
Applicants who have not yet accepted their offer must log in to the JAMB portal and confirm their admission no later than Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Step 2: Complete Physical Screening
After accepting the offer online, candidates must report for physical screening and finalize their registration on or before Friday, January 23, 2026.
Important Notice from the University
DELSU has emphasized that candidates who fail to accept their admission on JAMB CAPS and complete the screening process will forfeit their admission for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The university also clarified that applicants remain classified as candidates, not enrolled students, until all admission procedures are completed and a matriculation number is issued.
Final Advisory
All candidates who have not yet presented themselves for screening are strongly encouraged to use this extension wisely and complete all requirements within the approved time frame.
This announcement is issued on behalf of the Registrar’s Office to keep both screening officers and candidates fully informed.
