1. Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA)
Established initially in 1982 under the old Ondo State, named Ondo State University; later renamed Adekunle Ajasin University when Ekiti State was created. 3. University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED)
It is the first specialized medical university in Nigeria, focused on medical sciences, health sciences, public health, etc. Accredited by the National Universities Commission.
4. Sam Maris University, Supare-Akoko
Licensed in 2023, offers programmes in faculties such as Law, Nursing & Allied Sciences, Social Sciences & Management, Computer & Environmental Sciences.
5. Wesley University, Ondo City
Founded 2007, Christian university offering programmes across sciences, arts, social science, etc. Known for combining character and education.
