The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has officially reopened its undergraduate admission portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. This move follows the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)‘s recent decision to extend the admission exercise for all public universities across Nigeria.

In an official statement released on November 3, 2025, by the Registrar, Kabiru Garba Aminu (FNIPR), the university announced that the reopening of the portal aims to give room for candidates who are yet to complete their admission process to do so within the stipulated timeframe.

 ATBU Undergraduate Admission Portal Now Open

The reopening of the ATBU admission portal provides a final opportunity for eligible candidates to complete their physical screening and verification exercises. According to the university, candidates who have been offered provisional admission but have not yet finalized their screening are strongly advised to take advantage of this window.

The physical screening for all qualified candidates will take place from Monday, November 3rd to Monday, November 10th, 2025, at the NCC Building, Gubi Campus, located along the Ningi–Kano Road, Bauchi.

 Opportunity to Change Course During Screening

ATBU further disclosed that candidates will be allowed to change their course of study during the ongoing physical screening period. However, this privilege will not apply to certain high-demand programmes due to limited admission capacity.

The following courses are excluded from the course-change option:

• Medicine (MBBS)
  
• Nursing
  
• Public Health
  
• Veterinary Medicine
  
• Architecture
  
• Quantity Surveying
  
• Civil Engineering
  
• Computer and Communications Engineering
  
• Mechatronics Engineering
  
• Biochemistry
  
• Microbiology
  
• Computer Science
  

Students interested in switching to other programmes are encouraged to do so promptly before the deadline.
