The Senate of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, has officially revised the 2025/2026 academic calendar by postponing the First Semester mid-semester break and merging it with the upcoming Sallah holiday.

 Revised Break Timeline

Original Mid-Semester BreakNew Combined Break
Mon, 16 Feb – Sun, 22 Feb 2026Mon, 16 Mar – Tue, 24 Mar 2026

Key Points:

  • The new break now aligns with the Sallah holiday.
  • Lectures and academic activities continue uninterrupted until March 15, 2026.

 Reason for the Adjustment

  1. Instructional Delays: Some courses started later than scheduled at the beginning of the semester. The adjustment ensures that sufficient syllabus coverage is achieved before mid-semester assessments.
  2. Ramadan & Sallah Considerations: Synchronizing the break with religious observances allows students and staff to celebrate comfortably without disrupting academic flow.

 Directives for Students and Staff

  • Lectures to Continue: All students must attend classes until March 15, 2026.
  • Internal Assessments: Departments are expected to adjust schedules to maximize syllabus coverage.
  • Administrative Compliance: Staff must ensure a “fast-track” teaching approach to cover lost instructional time.
  • Facilities & Security: All university units remain operational up to the new date for the break.

The management emphasizes that this change prioritizes academic excellence and student welfare, and encourages students to make the most of the continuous instruction period to prepare for upcoming mid-semester tests.
