Overview
The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2026–2027 offers exceptional opportunities for outstanding international students from non-EU/EEA countries who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at one of Europe’s leading research universities.
This prestigious scholarship aims to support highly motivated and academically excellent students who are eager to become part of a vibrant, innovative, and globally recognized learning environment.
Scholarship Benefits
- Award amount: €3,000 – €22,000 for one academic year
- For two-year Master’s programs, renewal of the scholarship for the second year is possible (same amount), provided the student meets academic conditions:
- Minimum average grade of 7/10 by the end of the 3rd quartile
- At least 50% of European Credits (ECs) earned
- Minimum average grade of 7/10 by the end of the 3rd quartile
- Scholarship recipients may also become eligible to apply for additional awards such as the Kipaji Scholarship (specific criteria apply)
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the UTS, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country
- Hold a conditional admission letter for a University of Twente Master’s program for 2026/27
- Not have previously graduated from a UT undergraduate or graduate program
- Belong to the top 5–10% of their graduating class academically
- Possess a valid UT student number after admission
- Meet the English language requirements:
- IELTS overall score of 6.5, with at least 6.0 in speaking, OR
- TOEFL iBT score of 90, with at least 20 in speaking
- IELTS overall score of 6.5, with at least 6.0 in speaking, OR
- Show proof of financial means to cover remaining study and living expenses (UTS is a partial scholarship)
- Comply with Dutch visa regulations (if applicable)
Eligible Programs
The UTS covers all Master’s programs at the University of Twente except:
- Pre-Master’s programs
- ITC faculty programs
- Courses for Dutch/EU/EEA students paying statutory tuition fees
