
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the 2025 June/July National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, showing remarkable improvement in both enrolment and performance compared to 2024.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, announced that enrolment rose by 37% this year, with over 92,000 candidates participating.
“About 80,000 of the candidates who enrolled obtained credits in English Language and Mathematics,” Dr. Mohammed revealed.
Performance Breakdown
- 61,104 candidates (68.18%) had five credits and above including English and Mathematics.
- In 2024, only 44,000 candidates (65.34%) achieved the same benchmark.
- A total of 92,875 candidates were graded:
- 57,651 (62.07%) males
- 35,224 (37.93%) females
- 57,651 (62.07%) males
- The number of exam centres increased to 1,892 in 2025 from 1,708 in 2024.
Candidates were examined across:
- 16 Engineering Trades
- 7 Construction Trades
- 9 Miscellaneous Trades
- 4 Business Trades
- 16 General Education Subjects
Drop in Exam Malpractice
The NABTEB boss highlighted a decline in exam malpractice cases:
- 435 candidates (0.47%) were caught in 516 cases in 2025.
- This is an improvement from 349 candidates (0.52%) in 524 cases recorded in 2024.
“The 2025 NBC/NTC examinations, conducted nationwide between June 16 and July 17, recorded fewer malpractice cases compared to last year,” Mohammed said.
Registration Now Open for Nov/Dec 2025 Exams
NABTEB also announced that registration for the November/December 2025 NBC/NTC and ANBC/ANTC examinations has officially begun.
