The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially refuted claims of a technical glitch during its 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise, which was conducted from September 1 to 4, 2025.
In a formal statement released by Adejoke R. Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the Communication Unit, the university expressed concern over rumours circulating online and via email suggesting mishandling of the screening process.
“The University of Lagos notes, with concern, the circulation of various insinuations and claims in e-mails and reports on social media platforms, following the 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise that held from September 1-4, 2025,” the statement read.
The university clarified that any notifications regarding malpractice sent to candidates were not due to system failures or technical glitches. Instead, they were part of the institution’s standard screening procedures designed to ensure a fair and credible assessment for all applicants.
UNILAG emphasized its commitment to transparency and integrity in the admission process, assuring students and stakeholders that all Post-UTME results remain valid and unaffected by the circulating claims.
This announcement aims to calm apprehensions among prospective students while reinforcing UNILAG’s dedication to upholding high academic standards. Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the university’s official portal for verified updates and information regarding admissions.
