Federal University of Education, Pankshin Suspends Orientation and Matriculation Lectures

The Management of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP) has approved a temporary suspension of lectures for selected students in the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on 2nd March 2026, lectures for B.Ed. 100 Level UTME and 200 Level Direct Entry (DE) students have been suspended to allow full participation in orientation and matriculation activities.

Suspension of Lectures for New Students

The suspension applies specifically to:

  • 100 Level UTME students
  • 200 Level Direct Entry students

This adjustment ensures that new entrants can fully engage in the mandatory orientation programmes and matriculation ceremony without academic conflicts.

The move reflects the university’s commitment to properly integrating students into its academic and administrative culture before full academic engagement resumes.

Colleges Orientation Exercise

The first stage of orientation will take place at the college level.

  • Date: Wednesday, 4th March 2026
  • Time: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
  • Venue: Various College Halls across campus

During this session, students will interact with:

  • Deans
  • Heads of Departments (HODs)
  • Faculty Officers

The focus will be on departmental requirements, grading systems, and professional standards within each discipline.

General Orientation Exercise

The second phase brings together the entire 2025/2026 cohort.

  • Date: Thursday, 5th March 2026
  • Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Venue: Convocation Square

Key areas to be addressed include:

  • University Library services
  • Medical Centre operations
  • ICT facilities
  • Campus security protocols

Principal Officers of the university, including the Vice-Chancellor, are expected to address the students.

44th Matriculation Ceremony

The orientation activities will conclude with the 44th Matriculation Ceremony.

  • Date: Friday, 6th March 2026
  • Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Venue: Convocation Square

During the ceremony, students will take the Matriculation Oath, formally committing to abide by the university’s rules and regulations. This marks their official transition into full-fledged students of FUEP.
