Ahead of the main ceremony, a Convocation Lecture will hold on Friday, 27th March 2026, at 12:00 noon.

Titled “The Role of Public-Private Partnership in Developing Nigeria’s Aerospace Industry,” will be delivered by Dr. B. Echefu, Chairman of the ERB Group.

Special Guests and Ceremony Theme

The Guest of Honour at the convocation is the Honourable Minister of Defence, General C.G. Musa (Rtd), OFR. His participation underscores the institute’s strategic role in national defence and technical capacity building.

The theme for the 2026 convocation is:
“Harnessing Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Aerospace Development in Nigeria.”

This theme reinforces the institute’s mission of promoting science, technology, engineering, and innovation as drivers of sustainable growth in the aerospace industry.

Immediate Issuance of Certificates

In a move aimed at administrative efficiency, AFIT has announced that all graduands will receive their certificates immediately after the convocation ceremony.

This “Direct Certification” approach eliminates the usual delay associated with certificate collection, enabling graduates to proceed promptly into employment or further studies.

Graduands are expected to complete all academic and financial clearances before the ceremony to ensure smooth issuance of their certificates.

Final Note

The combined convocation ceremony represents both a celebration of academic achievement and a reaffirmation of AFIT’s commitment to technological advancement in Nigeria.

As the institution prepares to confer degrees and diplomas on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sets of graduates, the event symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter for the graduands as they contribute to the nation’s aerospace and technical development.
