Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has released an important notice for newly admitted students and those who completed Inter-Faculty transfers for the 2025/2026 academic session. The university has directed all affected students to finalize their JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) requirements ahead of the official matriculation exercise.
The directive, issued by the Registrar, Mal. Ahmadu Shehu, explains that a student’s legal admission status at UDUS is confirmed only after proper verification of JAMB admission records.
Key Dates to Remember
Students are urged to take note of the following deadlines to avoid complications:
- Last Day to Print JAMB Admission Letter: Wednesday, February 25, 2026
- Matriculation Ceremony: Wednesday, February 25, 2026
Important Notice: Students who fail to print and present the original JAMB Admission Letter before the stated date will not be issued a Matriculation Number. Without this number, admission into UDUS will not be officially recognized.
What Students Need to Do
1. Confirm Your Admission Details
Students should compare the information on their UDUS Admission Confirmation Letter with what appears on their JAMB Admission Letter.
If there is any difference in course, faculty, or personal details, immediate action is required.
How to Fix It:
Visit a JAMB office or an accredited CBT center to request a Change of Course/Institution or a Correction of Data. University and JAMB records must match exactly for admission to remain valid.
2. Print Your Original JAMB Admission Letter
All students must obtain the official JAMB Admission Letter, which features a barcode and a colored background.
Steps:
- Log in to your JAMB e-Facility portal
- Complete the required payment (typically ₦1,000 via Remita)
- Download and print the document
For Direct Entry and Transfer Students:
Ensure that your previous academic records have been properly transferred to your current UDUS programme on the JAMB system.
Why CAPS Compliance Is Mandatory
JAMB CAPS is Nigeria’s official admissions platform. Being fully compliant means:
- You have accepted your admission offer on the JAMB portal
- Your O’Level results have been uploaded and verified
- JAMB has issued a final admission letter for your approved UDUS course
Students who do not meet these requirements risk being excluded from the official matriculation list, which may lead to ineligibility for the ceremony and possible withdrawal of admission.
