The Management of Northwest University (NWU), Kano formerly Yusuf Maitama Sule University has announced the schedule for the physical verification of original documents for all newly admitted UTME and Direct Entry (DE) students for the 2025/2026 academic session. This verification is a crucial step to confirm students’ admission and eligibility before proceeding to fee payment and course registration.
The exercise will take place at the City Campus (Ado Bayero House, Kofar Nassarawa), under the supervision of the Directorate of Examination, Admissions, and Records (DEAR).
Faculty-Based Verification Dates
Students are required to attend only on the date assigned to their faculty. All sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. daily.

Mandatory Documents for Verification
Students must bring original documents and are strongly advised to also provide four (4) photocopies of each for submission:
- JAMB Result Slip or Direct Entry registration slip
- SSCE O’Level Certificates (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, etc.)
- NWU Post-UTME/DE Acknowledgment Slip
- Academic Transcripts (for Direct Entry students only, including ND, NCE, or IJMB results)
- Identification Documents (Primary School Leaving Certificate, Indigene Certificate, Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age)
Guidelines for a Smooth Verification Process
The university has highlighted the following instructions to ensure orderly processing:
- Arrive Early: Students should reach the City Campus promptly to join their faculty queue.
- Follow Assigned Dates: Only attend on your faculty’s scheduled day; students arriving outside their assigned date will not be processed.
- Medical Certificate: Students are also required to obtain a medical certificate from the University Clinic as part of the registration process.
Important: Completing document verification successfully is mandatory before proceeding to online payment and course registration. Failure to attend during the assigned schedule may result in the forfeiture of your admission offer.
