Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), formerly known as Anambra State University, has officially released details for its 27th Matriculation Ceremony, which will formally welcome newly admitted students into the institution for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The matriculation ceremony marks the point at which fresh students are formally recognized as full members of the university, having pledged to uphold the institution’s academic standards, rules, and values.

What Fresh Students Must Do

New students are advised to complete the following steps ahead of the ceremony to avoid disqualification from participation:

1. Complete Financial and Portal Clearance

Ensure that all school fees are paid and personal records are properly updated on the university portal. Only students with an issued matriculation number will be allowed to take part.

2. Collect Academic Regalia

Visit your faculty office to make the necessary payment and receive your gown and cap, which are compulsory for participation in the ceremony.

3. Arrive Early

The academic procession begins at 11:00 a.m. Students are expected to be seated at their assigned venues by 10:30 a.m. for proper coordination.

4. Take the Matriculation Oath and Sign the Register
