The College of Education and Legal Studies (COELS), Nguru, Yobe State, through its Innovations and Consultancy Services Division, has announced the commencement of admissions for its 2026 academic intake. The college is inviting qualified and motivated applicants to enroll in a wide range of professional diplomas, advanced diplomas, and short-term certificate programmes designed to build career-focused and practical skills.

Located along Gashua Road, Nguru, COELS continues to expand access to flexible learning opportunities for individuals seeking professional development across education, administration, security, technology, language, and Islamic studies.

Programme Categories and Available Courses

Applicants can choose from several academic streams, each offering specialized training and certification.

COELS Consult (Professional and Certificate Track)

Professional Diplomas (9-Month Duration):

  • Teaching Practice and Education (TRCN Pathway)

Short-Term Certificates (3-Month Duration):

Directorate of Continuing Education (Advanced Diplomas)

Advanced Diploma Programmes (9-Month Duration):

  • Legal Studies

Centre for Qur’anic and Almajiri Studies

  • Advanced Diploma in Qur’anic Sciences (9 Months)
  • Professional Certificate in Qur’anic Studies (Ulumul Qur’an) – 6 Months

  • Professional Certificate in Tafsir (6 Months)

Centre for Language Development

Professional Diplomas (9 Months):

Entry Requirements

Admission into each category is based on the following criteria:

  • Certificate Courses: A minimum of SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS).
    • Note: Qur’anic Studies applicants must demonstrate strong Qur’anic memorization, basic Arabic skills, and pass an oral assessment.
  • Professional Diploma Courses: At least SSCE, along with relevant post-secondary experience.
  • Advanced Diploma Courses: A recognized Diploma certificate in a related field.
