Lagos State University (LASU) has unveiled a fresh hiring initiative to bring seasoned professionals into key leadership roles across its administrative, sports, and digital media units. With approval from the institution’s Governing Council, the university is opening its doors to qualified candidates both within and outside the LASU community to help drive its next phase of growth and modernization.

Executive Roles Open for Application
The university is currently inviting applications for three senior director-level positions:
- Head of Works and Infrastructure Development
- Head of Sports and Student Wellness
- Head of Multimedia and Digital Communications Centre

Position One: Head of Works and Infrastructure Development
Role Summary
This office oversees the design, construction, maintenance, and long-term development of all university facilities. The successful candidate will work directly with the Vice-Chancellor and will be responsible for shaping LASU’s physical landscape.
Eligibility and Professional Profile
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A university degree in fields such as Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Structural Engineering, or Urban and Regional Planning
- A minimum of 18 years of post-graduation professional experience
- A relevant postgraduate qualification
- At least five years in a Deputy Director role within a university or similar organization
- Active membership in recognized professional bodies (e.g., COREN, NSE, NIQS, CORBON, or related institutions)
- Strong digital literacy and the ability to work with modern ICT systems
Key Duties
The role includes:
- Overseeing construction, renovation, and maintenance of campus facilities
- Reviewing project budgets, cost plans, and technical reports
- Coordinating routine servicing and repairs across all units
- Ensuring quality standards in ongoing development projects
- Performing additional tasks as directed by university management
Position Two: Head of Sports and Student Wellness
Role Summary
This directorate is responsible for building a vibrant sports culture and promoting physical fitness and recreational activities among students and staff.
Eligibility and Professional Profile
Candidates must possess:
- A degree in Sports Science, Human Kinetics, or Physical and Health Education
- At least 15 years of professional experience
- A relevant postgraduate qualification
- A minimum of five years at Deputy Director level or equivalent
- Membership in recognized sports or physical education associations
- Competence in digital administration and management tools
Key Duties
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordinating internal and external sporting competitions
- Managing funding, sponsorships, and sports-related budgets
- Publishing an annual calendar of sports and recreational activities
- Supervising the upkeep of sports facilities and equipment

Position Three: Head of Multimedia and Digital Communications Centre
Role Summary
This office leads the university’s digital storytelling and media operations, covering audiovisual production, live streaming, and online content for academic, promotional, and public engagement purposes.

Applicants should have:
- A recognized university degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification
- At least 15 years of hands-on experience in digital media or multimedia services
- Five years of service at Deputy Director level in a similar role
- Practical expertise in video production, editing, live broadcasting, and emerging media technologies
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools and advanced editing platforms
- Membership in relevant professional media or technology bodies
Key Duties
The successful candidate will:
- Oversee planning and production of digital and audiovisual content
- Manage the entire media workflow from concept to final output
- Support virtual events, academic broadcasts, and institutional promotions

Appointment Terms and Compensation
Tenure
Each position is offered on a single, non-renewable five-year term.
Age Limit
Applicants must be below 60 years of age by March 2026.
Remuneration
Successful candidates will be placed on CONUNASS Level 15, along with approved allowances and benefits applicable to senior university officers.
