The Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) has officially released the full schedule and participation guidelines for its 14th matriculation ceremony, welcoming students admitted into the 2025/2026 academic session into the university community.
The announcement outlines important dates, timeframes, and responsibilities that every new student must follow to take part in this formal academic tradition.
Ceremony Schedule at a Glance
- Date: Friday, 30 January 2026
- Time: 4:00 p.m.
- Location: COHS Auditorium, College of Health Sciences Campus, Lokoja
Fresh students are advised to familiarize themselves with the campus layout, as several activities connected to the event will take place within the COHS premises.
Registration and Payment Deadline
The university has set a firm deadline for all new students to complete their school registration and financial obligations.
- Final date: Sunday, 25 January 2026
Students who fail to meet this requirement risk losing their admission status, as the university has clearly stated that participation in matriculation is tied to full compliance with these conditions.
Collection of Academic Gowns
Matriculating students can begin picking up their ceremonial gowns starting:
- From: Wednesday, 28 January 2026
- Where: Departmental Administrative Offices
Gowns will be issued on a first-come basis, so students are encouraged to arrive early to avoid delays or shortages.
Instructions for Matriculation Day
To ensure a smooth and orderly ceremony, students are expected to follow these steps:
- Report to the COHS ICT Car Park by 1:30 p.m.
- Join the academic procession scheduled to move out at 2:30 p.m.
- Be fully seated inside the auditorium by 3:30 p.m.
- Wear the official matriculation gown to gain entry into the hall
Once the hall is closed, no one will be allowed to enter or leave until the ceremony ends.
Returning the Gown
Students must return their gowns in good condition by:
- Deadline: Monday, 2 February 2026, by 2:00 p.m.
Any student who misses this deadline will be required to pay a ₦5,000 late return charge.
