The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has released the official timeline for its orientation and matriculation programmes for students admitted into the 2025/2026 academic session. The announcement covers all academic programmes and applies to both first-year and Direct Entry students across the university’s campuses.

For many freshers, these events mark the true beginning of university life—introducing them to campus culture, academic expectations, and their formal acceptance into the institution.

Who This Announcement Applies To

The schedule is meant for:

  • Newly admitted undergraduate students (100 Level), and
  • Newly admitted Direct Entry candidates

This applies to students across all UNICROSS campuses.

Orientation Day for All Campuses

UNICROSS has confirmed that its student orientation programme will take place on:

  • Date: Monday, 19 January 2026
  • Location: All UNICROSS campuses

Students are encouraged to plan their movements early, as activities will be happening simultaneously across the university system.

Matriculation Dates by Campus

The university will hold matriculation ceremonies on different days, depending on campus location:

Calabar Campus

  • Matriculation Date: Wednesday, 29 January 2026

Ogoja Campuses

  • Matriculation Date: Thursday, 30 January 2026

Each campus will host its own ceremony to formally welcome students into the UNICROSS academic community.

What You Must Do to Be Allowed to Matriculate

To take part in the matriculation ceremony, students must meet two compulsory requirements:

  • Pay their full session school fees, and
  • Complete departmental registration

These steps are not optional they determine whether a student is officially recognised by the university.

Important Warning to Fresh Students

UNICROSS has made it clear that any student who fails to complete payment and registration before the matriculation date risks losing their admission entirely. Students are advised to treat this as a firm deadline, not a casual reminder.

A New Chapter Begins

Orientation introduces students to life at UNICROSS, while matriculation formally makes them part of the university’s academic family. For freshers, these moments represent the transition from admission letters to real campus experience lectures, friendships, responsibilities, and future ambitions.

Students are encouraged to prepare ahead, stay informed, and make the most of this important milestone in their educational journey.
