The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has released an official directive for all candidates recently offered admission into the university. The notice concerns the accuracy of programme details displayed on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
According to the university, every newly admitted student must ensure that the course shown on their JAMB CAPS profile is exactly the same as the programme approved and offered by FUTO.
Deadline for Compliance
The university management has set Monday, January 19, 2026, as the final date for all affected candidates to regularise their records.
This instruction was contained in an internal memorandum signed by the University Admissions Officer, Professor I. J. Ogoke.
What Affected Candidates Must Do
Candidates whose JAMB CAPS programme does not correspond with their FUTO admission are required to take immediate action.
Required Action:
- Log in to the JAMB CAPS portal
- Initiate and complete a change of programme to reflect the exact course offered by FUTO
This step is compulsory and applies to all admitted candidates with discrepancies, regardless of how minor the difference may seem.
Support for Candidates Unable to Print JAMB Admission Letters
The notice also addressed candidates who have been unable to print their JAMB admission letters, despite being admitted by FUTO.
Such candidates are advised to:
- Visit the University Admissions Office directly
- Seek official assistance and guidance to resolve the issue
The university assured affected students that support will be provided where necessary.
Official Memo and Publication
The directive, referenced FUTO/VC/UAO/GEN.5/II/002, was formally addressed to the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICTC).
Management instructed the ICTC to ensure the notice is published on the university’s official website to reach all concerned candidates.
Important Notice to Admitted Students
All newly admitted students are strongly advised to comply promptly with this instruction. Failure to correct discrepancies on JAMB CAPS may result in delays or complications during registration and clearance.
Students are encouraged to act early and avoid last-minute issues that could affect their admission status.
