ATBU Publishes Official Academic Schedule for 2025/2026 Session

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has released its official academic timetable for the 2025/2026 academic year. The calendar, which has received approval from the University Senate, outlines all academic and administrative activities for both semesters.

The timetable was endorsed during the Second Semester Senate Examination Meeting held on Monday, 17 November 2025. It serves as a guide for students, lecturers, and non-teaching staff, covering registration periods, resumption dates, lecture schedules, assessments, examinations, breaks, and public holidays.

University management has urged all members of the ATBU community to strictly observe the schedule to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted academic session.

First Semester Activities (2025/2026)

Online Registration Window

All students from 100 Level to 500 Level are required to complete online registration before physical resumption.

  • Online Registration:
    Monday, 15 December 2025 – Monday, 5 January 2026

Student Resumption Schedule

To reduce congestion and ease campus movement, resumption dates have been staggered.

Returning Students (200–500 Level)

  • Resume: Monday, 5 January 2026
  • Lectures begin: Tuesday, 6 January 2026

Fresh Students (100 & 200 Level)

  • Resume: Monday, 12 January 2026

Faculty and Departmental Registration

Returning Students:

  • 5 January – 16 January 2026

Fresh Students:

  • 12 January – 16 January 2026

Late Registration (Penalty Applies):

  • 19 January – 23 January 2026

Students who fail to meet the regular registration deadline will be required to pay a late registration fee.

Deferment of First Semester

Students seeking to officially defer the first semester must apply within the approved period.

Matriculation and Orientation

  • Matriculation Ceremony: Date to be announced by JAMB
  • Orientation Programme: To follow matriculation
