The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has released an important and time-sensitive admission notice for UTME candidates recommended for courses different from the ones they initially selected during their JAMB registration.
The directive applies specifically to applicants admitted through the Shopping, Advert, or Supplementary channels. UNN has advised all affected candidates to act promptly to avoid complications or loss of admission on the JAMB CAPS platform.
Why This Notice Matters
UNN emphasises that the JAMB CAPS system is the only legitimate platform through which candidates can be fully processed and confirmed for admission. Any candidate who has been recommended for a different course must update their details to match the new offer before the JAMB deadline.
Failure to do so means the university will be unable to validate or confirm the candidate’s admission even if they were recommended internally.
What Affected UNN UTME Candidates Must Do Immediately
Candidates offered provisional admission into new courses are expected to:
1. Visit an Accredited CBT Centre
Only approved JAMB CBT centres can process official changes on CAPS. Cyber cafés or unverified centres may lead to incomplete or invalid submissions.
2. Complete a Change of Course on JAMB CAPS
Candidates must change from the original course they applied for to the new course they have now been recommended for.
3. Print the Updated Admission Slip
After submitting the change of course, candidates should print their updated admission status on CAPS.
4. Submit Printed Slip to the UNN Admissions Office
The printed slip must be taken to the UNN Admissions Office for proper documentation and final approval.
Deadline for Completion: Monday, 17 November 2025
UNN has stated clearly that all affected candidates must complete the process before 12 noon on Monday, 17 November 2025.
This deadline aligns with JAMB’s final admission closing date for the 2025/2026 admission cycle.
Candidates who fail to complete the change of course before the deadline risk losing their admission, as UNN will not be able to provide further recommendations after the CAPS window closes.
Final Advice to Candidates
UNN encourages all affected students to treat this update with urgency and avoid waiting until the last minute. Timely compliance ensures:
- Smooth admission processing
- Prompt registration
- Avoidance of CAPS rejection issues
