The World Bank Africa Centre of Excellence in Oilfield Chemicals Research (ACE-CEFOR), located at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), invites qualified candidates to apply for admission into its M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Established in 2013, ACE-CEFOR was created to promote quality postgraduate training and high-impact research in the petroleum and allied industries. The Centre focuses on capacity building, technological innovation, and sustainable development in Africa’s oil and gas sector.

Admission Requirements

Ph.D. Applicants:

• Must hold a relevant M.Sc. degree from UNIPORT or another accredited institution.
  
• Minimum CGPA: 3.5/5.0 at M.Sc. level and 3.0/5.0 at first degree.
  

M.Sc. Applicants:

• Must possess a relevant first degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/5.0.
  

All applicants must have credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in their O’Level results.

Programme Duration

• Ph.D. Programme: 36 months (3 years) of modular coursework and applied research.
  
• M.Sc. Programme: 12 months (1 year) of intensive study and research project.
